@Nice Movie Reviews : Journey 2 : The Mysterious Island

This holiday, I watched a great entertaining movie "Journey 2 - The Mysterious Island" and was still feeling thrilled by it. Since I am sharing the "In the Beginning - Creation" topic from the Bible. I like to share this fictionised movie with you. OHHHHH~ I saw giant lizard, mini elephanst, big colourful birds, huge friendly bees and itsy BIGsy spider, enormous "electric" eel and other sea creatures.

WOW! I am amazed! I am thinking whether in the Bible times, are these creatures naturally BIG ? I think only our Abba GOD knows.... The movie certainly fulfilled my fascination!

I recommend this exciting movie if you like GOD'S creation too! Go~watch it.

Here is the fact...

The tradition of eating turkey only at Christmas is a distant memory of the days when the principal dish on that day was something special. Before turkey took over, the popular Christmas delicacies were bustard, goose and cockerel, and in the houses of the rich, peacock and swan. The peacock was often skinned before roasting. For serving, it was re-clothed in its feathers and its beak was gilded. Sometimes the beak was propped open with a bit of bread soaked in spirit. This would then be set alight and the bird brought into the dining hall with the greatest pomp and ceremony. The turkey was introduced into Europe by one of Sebastian Cabot's officers on a return journey from the New World, which is where the birds came from. Strangely, they were called turkeys because of their similarity with another bird which was already established in England for human consumption. This was known as the turkey! Merchants from the Levant, or Turkey, first brought them to England, having originally imported them from West Africa. This soon created a lot of confusion. So, the first turkey was renamed the Guinea Fowl, as a reminder of its place of origin.

Fruit of Thoughts

I want to talk about this, actually with some unhappiness in it.... I want to speak for all the black cats of the world! THEY ARE GOOD BECAUSE GOD CREATED THEM!

Many places or people have been judging the black cats as a bad omen because of some myths about them. Greek mythology taught that a woman named Galenthias was turned into a cat and became a priestess at the temple of Hecate, the "Dark Mother," and sometimes known as the Mother of Witchcraft. During the 12th and 13th century, witches in Europe were often found with their "familiars," usually black cats, and were said to turn themselves into cats at times. During the witch-burning era of the 17th century, witches' cats were put into baskets and burned alongside the witches.

This is superstitious SUPERSTITIOUS! If a woman could turn into a cat because she is a god of some faith, why are people so sure it must be a black cat? not a white or orange or pink cat. Oh of course there is a pink cat too, Hello Kitty right?

OK back to the black cat. Even if really this is true and she did turned into a black cat, and it says that witches also turn into cats at time...but those "CATS" are not really cats but just in a form of cat that transformed by a witch or a god. If this is the case, why are there still many people associate REAL cats that GOD created with the FAKE spiritual form cats that transformed by the above mentioned beings and then judged that black cats are evil? Anyway, don't forget demons or any so called supernatural beings if they exist, can turn into a dog, a lion, and any animal too. Do we also call these animals evil?

Please! give the black cats back their reputation, I demand so. I own a very sweet one ...neither do I believe she is transformed by a greek god or a witch or something. She is just a cat. Why am I so sure? Because she has been with me for 3 years and we are living together happily since then. If she is of any spiritual form, she must also know I am a Christian and our GOD is above all and she should have leave me long ago knowing the one living in me is greater than the one outside and she should be fearful of me instead but not living with me for so long in peace? Unless she has a mission to transform me into a witch or to bring me black luck or somthing. But so far I am greatly blessed by my almighty GOD.

She is just a lovely cat GOD has created, and GOD has sent her to me. I love my BLACK cat. I am sure my black cat loves me too. For sure, I am very sure not a witch either. LOL. Witches don't glorify GOD, am I right witches if any reading this blog by chance? Please don't use any cats to represent the darkness just because they are black. Please don't even use any animal GOD has created. By the way, didn't they say witches could turn into a cat, then why do they need a black cat with them if they are cats themselves? I am confused.

JESUS loves the little cats, red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in HIS sight. JESUS loves the little cats of the world. Yeah, I have changed the lyrics and I feel good about it.

So, the final verdict is, black cat is GOOD because GOD created them. The theory is that simple.

I am so happy writing this because I feel that I have done something nice for my cat today, certainly, all glory to GOD of HIS wonderful creation - cats.

You don't need to agree with me of my view on black cats. However I am living with one and I know. She is good and I want to tell you she is very good and she is a pure black cat and her name is princess.

Oh, I do keep an orange cat if some wanted to say orange cat is a halloween cat too...

So, when Halloween is coming, people will start thinking about black or orange cats....oh please, people. Whatever, I only celebrate "Hello,Win in JESUS. Not going to wish anybody happy Halloween...but "Hello,Win" in JESUS always instead.

@ UP in JESUS, Fear is Surely Down!

I wanted to share this as a faith testimony to celebrate my overcome of one areas of my fears; watching horror movies all by myself without accompany. YUP! I did it. To me it is a big deal! I even watched it without peeping through the fingers which I used to be, even if many are around me or jumping out of my chair if caught a horror scene by surprise.

How did I made it? I guess maybe because recently I have been around with GOD'S word faithfully. ie. now at Genesis 38, also thanks to church's GOD-centered teaching assuring me that GOD loves me and HE is always with me, but the greatest credit goes to GOD, the HOLY SPIRIT who assured and helped me supernaturally.

Like the lady in the story, I too, bondage of fear had left me.

Probably I watch 1 or 2 a year unless I meet one with interesting storyline and this is the 1 and only Korean movie I found nice this year and I have watched alone last night.

Please understand that I am not promoting violence nor fears here, I am sharing whats that was proven that I HAVE OVERCOME one areas of my fear, supernaturally by the help of GOD. I watched this movie entirely, naturally without fear.

Title : Cat's Two Eyes that See Death

Basically, the movie storyline surrounded the mystery of a cat and a girl. Thats why I find the movie interesting because 1) I own a cat, and I am writing a Christian novel now related to cat too so I am curious about the story, 2) I am interested to find out what had happened to the poor girl. 3) I feel that I am not fearful to horror movies anymore and I am given the guts to go ahead to watch it at 1am in the morning.

In the end I realised the movie covered 1) a breakthrough bondage of fear from the lady in the poster, 2) a sad consequence of man-made killing plan of the cats 3) the child who was accidently dead in the tragedy, 4) their friendship around three of them and 5) the awareness of promoting animals loving community.

Before I go, let me show you a few shots below that proven to you I have watched it, printed screen the exciting parts and proven I am no longer fearful to watch a horror all by myself if needed.

This is my testimony, in JESUS, I could OVERCOME anything fearful even when I need to fear face by face in reality. When JESUS is UP, fear is down down down down.

And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give.
So don’t be troubled or afraid.

In the past, my eyes would automatically shut-off, or peeped through my fingers or even jumping out the chair when these scenes appeared. NOW~ No No no no not anymore. YAY!

I shall not narrate it further and hope you may understand by the scenes who is who.

1. Colourful thick/thin threads and thick/long/short round-headed needles.

2. Print the template on thickest gsm paper for sewing purpose.

3. Increase or decrease the level of sewing by printing all 8 into 1 paper or enlarge each and print only 1 picture per paper for younger children. See below example.

I feel that many believers are interested to help other believers by correcting their certain behavior or attitude using the Bible verses, however sometimes they, including myself may not go down to the other party's level to encourage them, and the outcome seems harsh towards the other party and may be misinterpretated as condemnations. Excited to know how to create a dancing sheep using fingers printing art? As long as you master the tactic of pressure use on each print, and add colours to the activity, the art of finger printing world is yours!

You are free to use any finger to print as long as each finger enables you to create the desired print and size of your art. I think kids together with adults like finger printing art right?

This is my first baa baa dancing sheep, using thumb for the body print with full heavy pressure, and light pressure on index finger point for the tail. A little drawing is needed to make the other parts of the sheep and the background, or if you preferred using paper shapes since I recommend Bible shapes for Bible activity. You may print on white or colour paper.

I encountered four NGs when making the tutorial, forgot the same pattern of steps a couple times in the midst of filming and had to re-do it again.

When the final one was stirling towards success, my neighbour staying above suddenly screamed! You could hear her over the video. Little did I realise that I actually could turn off audio of my video cam, after reminded by my hubby. However we are just too exhausted to perfect it with another film. Please bear with it for a few seconds. This will not happen again because I would remember to turn off the audio. Ha!

This is my first made Bible Word Search activity sheet. I used an online software to create it by adding my own words. However the sad thing is, it does not allow me to save the file directly into my laptop but only with printing option. So I printed it and then scanned it, then upload it here. For best result, please use the best black catridge ink quality at your printer for printing.

I personally like crossword and word search. Not surprising that I play my creation too. By this late evening I will show you guys the answers as it is already 4.12am here in the morning and I don't think I could finish it...my eyes are soooooooooooooo heavy....(yawn) Sorry...

I suppose to share this last week but was entangled with my online shop moving works. Although I am still in the process of doing it, but I feel that my memory is about to fail me; about the details of having fun with my two angelic 3 and 4 years old nephew at my parents' place last Friday.

So TODAY IS THE DAY I must share it here or the details truly faded by end of the week when more things are jumping into my mind.

It is really worth to blog! I excitedly like to remember such fond memory of togetherness of Bryan, Edwin and Me!

First, let me introduce to you my beloved nephews; Bryan on the left and Edwin on the right. They are my younger sister's 2nd and 3rd boys from the second family. Yah! She has 3 boys! The oldest one already 14 years old, from the 1st family. I feel nothing shameful about introducing the beloved kids this way because to me, my sister deserves a blissful marriage. I am proud of her and her children at all times.

It is such a challenge to take a group photo of both of them firstly they are so active at this category of age, and especially expecting them to remain still for even a second is mission impossible. Secondly, also I guess they adore me so much that they were willing to put aside their intensive sibling rivarly which is common among 3s and 4s, and have peace for a moment to allow me to snap them together.

Please pardon me if the photo is blurred a little. However it is my and their best photo so far!

As usual, when they met me last Friday, I knew the first thing they would greet me randomly is : "Aunt, I want sweets. " or " Aunt Aunt I want ice-cream." So, arriving prepared, I had sweets in my bag and ice-creams on my hands!

We sat together and they started digging into their cups, and scooping sweets from my sweets bag.....and they rewarded me with broad smiles, and lots of giggles for my loving food. They chatted with me too a little in their "languages" with some simple one-text English. I just nodded my head regardless I understand them or not. That's not important isn't it? All they want is my attention and anticipation right?

Half an hour later, their ice-creams were gone! the sweets were halved left in my sweet bag! Following, the two pairs of adorable small eyes expectedly staring at me in silence. So what's next? I think that's what they would be asking me.

"YES! it is play time!" I announced." "YAY!" was their response followed by some kiddy scream. Ouch! my ears. They were really loud! It is a blessing they have a very PLAYFUL aunt.

Honestly, I did not even plan the game at all when I announced it, I just go ahead with my feeling and guts, trusting GOD would help me. Truly, this idea popped into my mind ON TIME. Oh! Thank you JESUS!.

I called it "Good Boy Thumbs Puppet Game". You may play it too in your creative way; with different audience target or life application theme.

I told the kids I would like to draw their faces on my thumbs. The left thumb would represent Bryan and the right thumb represented Edwin. As Bryan is the older brother, he would start first. I explained to Edwin the same reason why he needed to be patient and he gently gladly obeyed. So he actually demonstrated his self-control I think?

I started drawing his mouth and asked him whether he wanted a happy one or a sad one; this tactic may reflect a child's current living condition. Then I asked him whether he wanted a big nose or a small nose, continued by whether he likes to have big or small eyes, and ears. Lastly I drew some of his hair. He was extremely joyful and satisfied with my drawing! I guess he sensed my love for him.

Next I proceeded with Edwin's turn, and asked the same string of questions. Talking with two boys led me to entirely different experience and I truly enjoy unique moment with the individuals.

Finally we had both "Bryan" and "Edwin" on my thumbs!!!

As I moved my thumbs; made them dance, jump, and moved left and right... I started sharing with them in English and Mandarin about brotherly love among them by making the two thumbs stamping each other. I told them that brothers are to be kind to each other. Then I encouraged them to stamp each other thumbs! And they did it. Woohoo! I was so glad.

Then I blessed them and shouted gladly :"Peace among you both, brothers." Continued by using my two thumbs, I told them that they are brothers and they should love and be faithful to each other, when they do so, their Mummy, Daddy, Grandparents and me would be happy and would praise them for being a good boy. They seemed to understand what I am sharing because they repeated "I am a good boy." a couple of times throughout the game.

We ended the game by drawing on THEIR thumbs instead. Bryan wanted me to draw his mum, and himself on his thumbs, and Edwin wanted me to draw a boy on one of his thumb...ooop! I fogot what had I drawn on his the other thumb....see? told you... I began to lose bits of memory! SO SORRY! But I hope this did not affected the fun of the game I am sharing right?

Of course, we also had a round of fun soapy experience removing inks from OUR thumbs. However the fun moment we had together is remembered forever.

THE END~

I suggested this game to rhyme with the Fruit of the SPIRIT for GOD'S glory. Because when I was playing the game with the kids, I did not plan the idea at all. Only when I finished the game then I realised that I had covered the Fruit of the SPIRIT. As I always been sharing to teach kids about the GOD'S love, peace, joy, patience, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness, self-control and goodness. Last Friday, I again experienced GOD'S presence among us and naturally I am sharing GOD'S love with them even in a non-believer's house; my parents are non-Christians.

Maybe to 3s and 4s, who are yet a believer, the GOD'S Fruit of the SPIRIT may not sound that easy for their understanding, but as a believer myself, I indeed made it and had shared and sowed GOD'S Fruit into their heart, so when they grown up, the seed of faith would harvest in the LORD'S timing, for the glory of GOD.

Afterall, it is always easy to share the lessons on GOD'S Fruit of the SPIRIT when GOD'S presence is with us, the believers.

Among the sea creatures, I specifically like sea lion and seal. Maybe I like the cheerful attitude demostrated when they clap their flippers, or walk with all four of them!

SO ADORABLE!

GOD created sea lions and seals relatively in His most creative way; relatively long and muscular foreflippers, and the ability to walk on all fours.

I'll be very sad if the lovely creatures are slowly disappearing in the world due to mass killing in some countries. Some people are killing them massively just because they are causing threat of salmons supply to people as sea lions eat salmons!

I like to eat salmons, but I also want to keep the sea lions. If asking me to pick one, I will eat less salmons and still keep the population of the cutie sea lions. Afterall, they also eat other fishes too.

See how cutie they are! GOD made fishes for them as food too right? Fighting over salmons with a weaker habitat; sea lions? I feel so ashamed.

Please! we are human...we have MANY other choices of food to eat!

Hey! I saw a spirit bear also eating salmons, want to kill the bears too?

Yes, I agree we are allowed to eat certain animals as food. But to kill one of them MASSIVELY mainly because they are competing common food with us such as salmons? I could not believe it! Can we live in peace with the lovely wide animals?

Ok, in the meanwhile, we pray and seeking WISER way from GOD, and let do something happy here to celebrate GOD'S creation, by drawing a sea lion or a seal since they have so much similiaries.

The beaded cross is great as necklace, key ring, car decoration etc. I bought many packs of beads in different colours two years back but I really have no time to sit down and make them for sales. Now I found the clip...is GOD trying to hint some lights to me??? I'll let you know when I have the answer.

2 Days 1 Night with "IT"

For the past 2 days 1 night, I have been wearing "it" whenever and wherever I go. Right now, I am still wearing "it"! No one so far shares the same intimacy as I have with "it" on earth...not even my husband because he is not allowed to follow me to the washroom!

I am sleeping with "it", shopping with "it", even bathing with "it", and work with "it" too. Yah, I love to watch Stephen King "It" but this is not that "it" definately. I even STRETCHED it to its limit and wanted to share "it" with my cats. Why am I still wearing "it"? What's so attractive "it" is? Ahhhhh~ I don't feel any discomfort wearing "it" 24hours a day. I simply fallen in love with "it"!

Meow! a rubber band?

Wait a minute! please don't use it to tie the garbage bag because it is NOT a rubber band but is rubber-like especially when I stretched "it"

When I let go,

It's back to its butterfly shape!

This is a silicone made shape band! I guess many of you may have seen it, or own a few at home. I saw them at my overseas suppliers' warehouse last year. Back then, silcone shape bands are still not popular in Singapore. Today, they are so HOT here in many shapes!

I love to use it as part of my drawing fun!

They are great ideas for story-telling too!

I love to use it to tie a present, then the receiver will receive TWO presents instead; one wrapped and one "to-wrap" if he or she is alert and curious enough to take a second look at the silicone shape band.

It becomes a bookmark when I stretched it over one of the hardcover story book.

I am thinking, I am going to tie the locker key on it when I go swimming!

Or why not use it as a hairband since it is silcone made. Unlike the normal rubber bands, this darling will not pull out any of my hair when I remove it. WOW!

Other ways to use it are; these fun shape silicone bands are gorgeous good door gifts, object lesson bring- home gift ie. story of Creation, or just a simple yet surprise yet inexpensive reward for any beloved kid!

How about make them as souvenirs for Christmas, Easter's Day, Class, Home and Birthday parties? I think the children will love it!

Because they are super value-priced, you can buy them in dozens as give-away and they are in SO MANY fun shapes beside what I shown above. These are great collectibles for weekly class gifts and rewards.

In class, or at parties, children could wear it even on their wrists. I tried, the bands are wearing-friendly. I don't even know it is still on my wrist when I am sleeping. I don't like to wear any accessory when I sleep because I feel distracted and will not sleep well. However, not with this ban, the next morning, it is still happily on my wrist greeting me. I did stretched and pulled the band many times, and it still shrunk back to its original shape. I am amazed!

You can turn them into class or event games base by grouping the kids according to their band types. Try to surprise the adults by inviting them to wear each and play the ice-breaking game or as teachers' appreciation gifts.

Now you know why I LIKE my "it" so much. This is my new toy for teaching and sharing faith, new accessory and blah blah blah....you name it and you could use it meaningfully. I find it quite therapeutic too to reduce stress level when I am stretching it.

Yup! I want to bring in more new shapes for sales at my online shop and bless the children here. I think you could get handful of them easily too from your local faith retailers.

@ Bible Cartoon Drawing - GOD Created Insects on Day 6 - Caterpillar and Butterfly

I like to start the first topic of Day 6 cartoon tutorial with caterpillar and butterfly because the process of a caterpillar's transformation into a butterfly greatly symbolises our Christian life in JESUS.

If we look at the lovely butterflies in mutiple colours, their wings resemble heartshapes right?

Yah! That's shows how loving our GOD is and I guess HE wanted to tell us how much HE loves us whenever we look at the tiny little butterflies. Halleluia.

Then I started to think should there be firstly butterfly or firstly caterpillar? Yah same question with firstly egg or firstly hen right? I know caterpilliar is hatched from an egg, but really as curious as a meow meow cat that did GOD created an egg first or a butterfly first. And I got the answer from this sweet website . Jesus created the earth and all that is in it. His universe is remarkable in its complexity and beauty of design. Much of it is strange and we could ask, "Why did He do it this way?" Genesis 1:24-26

The butterflies are one of His especially beautiful creations. The more we study them the more we see the wisdom, power, and abilities of Jesus the Creator and Designer.

LIFECYCLE:

When Jesus created the world he created all life as mature. He did not create seeds and then plant them. He created mature plants who produced seeds to reproduce other plants like itself. He did the same with all of life on the earth including animals and insects. Jesus created mature butterflies who mated and laid eggs. These then hatched out into little butterflies. (Of course we know better for the eggs hatched into little caterpillars, but if the so called science of the world is true the eggs would have to hatch butterflies.) That butterfly eggs would hatch into caterpillars is strange, amazing, astonishing, miraculous, surprising and wonderful. For if you plant a seed the plant that comes up is like the plant the seed came from. Fish eggs hatch into little fish. When you were conceived in your mother’s womb you started out as an egg that developed into the human being you are, not into a caterpillar. Yet it is strange but true that it pleased the Creator to make butterfly eggs hatch into caterpillars.

The caterpillars live off the leaves of plants. As they grow they shed their skin several times growing up to 30,000 times in size. Finally they take a nap for a week or two and wake up as butterflies. During the nap time most of the organs and other tissues of the caterpillar break down, turning into a semiliquid. From this material are formed the wings, legs, and other parts of the adult. At last the adult is ready to wake up and become a butterfly or moth. This is a most unusual life cycle, yet it was the Creator’s pleasure to cause caterpillars to turn into butterflies through this remarkable process.

CONTRAST BETWEEN THE LIFE OF THE CATERPILLAR AND BUTTERFLY:

Caterpillars eat plants while most butterflies drink the nectar of flowers. Those that live for several months also eat pollen and other foods. This requires a change in how they eat for the caterpillar has a mouth to bit off pieces of leaves and push it into his body, while butterflies have a long slender sucking tube. When the tube is not in use it is coiled up like a delicate watch spring. By uncoiling the tube butterflies probe deep into the flowers and suck up the nectar. Also, this change in food requires a change in digestion.

Caterpillars crawl to move around. Their body consists of a head followed by 12 or 13 segments. Like all insects, it also has three pairs of permanent or "true" legs--one pair on each of the first three segments directly behind the head. These true legs are usually hard, jointed, and tipped with tiny claws. To support the rest of its long body, the caterpillar also has from two to five pairs of soft, thick prolegs that disappear when it changes into a moth or butterfly. Some caterpillars are covered with hairs and others have a bare skin.

Butterflies have three legs and three body sections and they fly. Their wings and certain portions of their bodies are covered with a fine dust. Under a microscope the dust is seen to be made up of millions of finely ridged scales that are arranged in overlapping rows. Each scale has a tiny "stem" that fits into a cuplike socket. The beautiful colors and markings of the insect are due to the scales, which come in a remarkable variety of colors. Being able to fly requires a change in weight for caterpillars are too heavy to fly.

Caterpillars have six simple eyes and have poor eye sight, while butterflies have compound eyes with good eye sight.

The difference between caterpillars and butterflies is so great it is difficult to believe they are the same insect. The complex designs and life styles is proof there is a Designer who cheated them to be what He wanted them to be. It is impossible this could have happened by accident.

Butterflies do not have a common ancestor. Each type was created separately and each reproduced itself, so through the ages they have changed only slightly if at all. Butterflies and moths have the same life style, yet there is a great variation between the various butterflies and moths. In size they range from one fifth of an inch to ten inches across. They are of all colors and live in all types of climates and on all the continents except Antarctica. In some the male and female look completely different. In some the colors and patterns on top of the wing is completely different from that on the bottom of the wing. Many live on only one type of food and if they cannot find it they starve. And there is great variation in how, when and where they take their nap to turn from a caterpillar into a butterfly or moth.

METAMORPHOSIS

Metamorphosis is the scientific name for the change of an ungainly, crawling caterpillar into a delicate, flying butterfly. The word is from a Greek word meaning "transformed." Metamorphosis occurs not only in butterflies but also in thousands of insect and amphibian species.

So the answer is, there is a mature butterfly first, then it lay eggs, and the eggs hatched into caterpillars. GOD is so cool! WOW. I believe the children would be amazed when you tell them such a wonderful truth blended with faith essence. They would be more excited because what's coming up is, you are going to show them HOW to draw a cartoon caterpillar an a butterfly.

Alternatively, you may like to draw the cartoons first before the illustration. All up to you! Oh Oh, please do mention about the heart-shaped wings of the tiny creature, GOD loves them always!

During spring, the earth blooms with all kinds of flowers! The weather is turning warm too and we see more people smiling on the streets, in the parks and at homes. Spring inspires me wanted to dance around with the beautiful FLOWERS! Because I admire them able to willingly hold their "heads" up, wave their "hands" in the air, and swing to and fro, left and right as the wind moves them! To me, I always feel HOLY SPIRIT is like wind, can't see HIM but HE is always around, helping us to praise GOD.

Many times, whenever I am sad or doubtful with some life issues, just like these two days, GOD will assure me that HE is walking with me, as HE sends HIS gentle breeze to tell me so. HE made the flowers, also that whenever I am in a leafy mood - swaying, HIS creation acts to remind me to depend on the Creator; with head up and open arms, and a willing heart. Halleuia! Praise GOD for HE is good all the times.

Easter Special - Praise GOD with drawing - This is LOVE!

I feel it is miraclously amazing each time whenever I am thinking of my LORD JESUS, gladly the HOLY SPIRIT would lead me to a meaningful place where I could praise HIS glory.

I found one youtube link, and I feel good sharing it because I am a fan of drawing. Recently, I am learning to shade and draw for passion sake besides cartoon drawing. They are both entire different skills as shaded drawing focus on soft and strong strokes, and light and heavy shading etc. As I am so used to draw objects with steady and heavy pressing point of marker, it is a challenge for me to use pencil to draw using a different tactic. Then the eraser becomes my hero!

I think when I mastered the basic skill of shaded drawing - not talking about cartoon drawing, I like to try to draw JESUS symbolic image firstly. Oh no...no, I will continue enhance my cartoon drawing skills as well.

Okie, it is time for my new drawing practise, enjoy the moment praising our LORD; see ya!

....few hours later.....okie, I practiced and drawn and shaded a lamb AGAIN~ It stands for Lamb of GOD.

Dun laugh ok? I have not done shading for ten over years since last graphic design course...now refreshing the skill. still like cartooning with marker.....haiz. why shading needs finger for blending????

In the earlier entry, I mentioned about a new way of introducing cartoon drawing tutorial by using shapes and lines right? OK, today we are using circles, straight lines, and free lines.

First, I planned the shapes and lines I like to use for today lesson.

Then, I drafted the cartoon and planned the steps for video tutorial preparation.

Next, I used computer aid to do the video tutorial version. Here is where I plan it step by step for video tutorial version using the SAME picture. I have to do it from the last step to the first step. Eg. 40 -> 1. The more complicated the cartoon is, the longer time I take to finish it. That's why, I love the apple tutorial very much! Just 3 steps. hahahaa! Joking!!! Anyway, I only show the draft copy in this entry so that to show you how I present the cartoon online.

Finally, I published the video version at youtube.com. The whole cartooning to publishing process took me nearly two hours, from draft to video format.

By the way, I do consider fishers of men means men and women, hence this cartoon could also represent girls as you could explain to them that their hair is tighted up because they're going fishing! They are going to fish people, as explained as "men", to tell others about JESUS.

Matthew 4:18-20

Jesus Calls His First Disciples

As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee,

he saw two brothers,
Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew.

They were casting a net into the lake,

for they were fishermen.

“Come, follow me,” Jesus said,

“and I will send you out to fish for people.”

At once they left their nets and followed him.

Objectives

Help the children to understand Christians' purpose on earth,

1) Follow JESUS; in serve others; let our light shine in the name of JESUS,

2) and to worship GOD through our stewardship

because we children of GOD.

Introduction:

1)Competion Game: Fishing rod/paper fishes with attached magnets.
(fish origami)

a. Invite the children to have hand-on fun playing the fishing game competition.

b.You may divide them into a few groups

c. The winner group is the one who fish the most fishes at your set time.

d. Reward them for added motivation
2) Emphasis the related lesson that now they are ready to fish people for GOD

1) Discuss about a few ways how they could fish people for GOD
eg. - Sharing Bible stories from their Bible storybooks
- Praying for the needy
- Sing a praise
- Share testimonies
- Encourage/motivate/comfort using word of Faith and Scriptures

It is always so thrilled for me to watch teachers or kids drawing something on a completely blank white surface or on a chalk board, even on the sands. I am always anticipating and curious what'll they draw. I feel totally amazed when they turned a blank surface into even a simple cartoon drawing!

Haha! what's so difficult about drawing?, even a child know it. We always draw according to our five senses, or just something imaginative, um hum... spiritually?

I love to draw on my touchscreen phone, or on a white board, a chalk board, even on a magic magnetic board above I just bought yesterday!

Better still! let's blend in spiritual values on our drawing ie. gospel sharing and watch the spiritual transformation right from GOD! ; to reach out to souls, and illustrates the love of CHRIST. Halleuia!

Teaching drawing is equally an added fun to children's free will drawing. It'll build up a child's confidence ie. when they completed a drawing, gain security ie.as they learn from you, become more independent ie.when they draw their own after what they have learnt from you, and even leadership skill ie.when they draw to lead a picture. How about enhance their analytical skill? Yes, when they draw starting from circles, squares, ovals, triangles, rectangles and free lines.

Wait a minute....then where should we start to draw a cartoon? circle? square? rectangle?

Yah, I remember I promise to do a tutorial of the cartoon drawing similiar to the "Aslan" the great lion on the book series of The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S.Lewis.

Just now, when it was 8.10pm, the promise was ringing in my mind. I checked the show time of "The Chronicles Of Narnia : Voyage of the Dawn Treader" and rushed to the cinema with my hubby! At 9.00pm, we were enjoying the show. The movie lasted two hours, then I rushed back to publish my promise!

Sorry for the delay because I like to publish it after I watched it as I wanted to feel excited about it when I publish it!

Even I already read all the books, honestly speaking it is entirely different pleasure and experience on the books and movies version. When I read them, I use my own imaginary base on the story, the style of writing etc.

As for the movies, even though they are taken from the book but I saw a difference in casting and projection of the story in movie version. I guess this is done so to meet all audiences of different backgrounds.

Indeed I am disappointed with movie version so far. Example, the movie did not show the book version of Aslan's transformation into a lamb, as this is important to symbolise our LORD JESUS CHRIST according to Christian writer C.S.Lewis. The movie only features Aslan's saying as the book version "But there I have another name. You must learn to know me by that name. This was the very reason you were brought into Narnia, that by knowing me here for a little, you might know me better there." I take it as my greatest consolation prize for watching the movie version. LOL

The vey first time I watched the first book on movie, it seemed more harder for me to accept it due to the same reason. However, I am adjusting well, so I pretty enjoy book 3 on movie. Anyway it is just a book or a movie, not a Bible context.

The Story on movie:
Set a year after the events of the previous film, the two younger Pevensies Edmund (Skandar Keynes) and Lucy (Georgie Henley) are transported back to Narnia along with their cousin Eustace Scrubb (Will Poulter). They join the new King of Narnia, Caspian (Ben Barnes) in his quest to rescue seven lost lords to save Narnia from a corrupting evil that resides on a dark island. Each character is tested as they journey to the home of the great lion Aslan at the far ends of the world.

Back to three hours ago when I was watching the book 3 on movie, I deeply missed Susan and Peter as they only appeared a few flashes in the movie, but I was surprisingly delighted that Lucy and Edmund done pretty well and could lead the movie

Like the previous two movies, I still look forward to last part so that I could meet my "Aslan"! Whenever he appeared, my eyes were wet. When he roared, I felt all my hairs arised, not from fear but from amazement!

I like the previous 2nd movie of The Chronicles of Narnia- Prince Caspian, when Lucy meets Aslan. The reason is, I so agree that such encounter is similiar to my quiet and prayer time with my GOD.

This time, when the scene Lucy meets Aslan's scene appeared again in the latest series, I had tears in my eyes and a heartfelt warmth in me again!

I know, one day I will meet my "Aslan" and forever staying with HIM in HIS Kingdom "Narnia". You know what I mean?(wink wink)

Who is Aslan in The Chronicles of Narnia?

Aslan was the first known living creature in Narnia. Aslan's creation of this world "Narnia" was, in fact, merely a copy (or "shadow") of his own heavenly land, Aslan's Country. Aslan was called the son of the Emperor-Over-The-Sea.

C.S. Lewis was a rather famous Christian proselyte, so Aslan's metaphorical resemblance to Jesus Christ is probably not an accident. Jesus is often referred to as "The Lamb" by Christians, is called King (of which the Lion is a traditional symbol), sacrificed himself for all people's sins, and then rose again. One important clue in this respect is Aslan's transformation into a lamb at the end of the Dawn Treader, followed by the explanation that he exists in our world too... "But there I have another name. You must learn to know me by that name. This was the very reason you were brought into Narnia, that by knowing me here for a little, you might know me better there. Aslan name was in our world considered as Christ, as said he did created a heavenly land and Narnia, He died to save a peccant (Edmund Pevensie in this case) just as Christ did for all.

Regarding Aslan's abilities within the Narnia universe, he indisputably wielded some very supernatural powers and was known to be able to change his physical appearance, taking other animal forms such as those of a lamb, a cat, and an albatross. He, unlike any other character in the series, appears in all seven chronicles. As Aslan created Narnia, he destroyed it.
